Research Highlights
My research focuses on the tidal dynamics of planetary bodies. I develop rheological models and analytical tools to study internal structure, tidal dissipation, and forced librations of satellites and exoplanets. A central result is that the tidal response of a multilayered body can be reproduced by a homogeneous body with an appropriate rheology, providing tractable models for long-term orbital evolution. I have applied these methods to Enceladus, Mimas, TRAPPIST-1e, and the Pluto–Charon system.
I also develop numerical methods for mean-field games and price formation. I formulate these problems using monotone operators and variational inequalities and design iterative numerical schemes for their solution, with applications to competitive markets and energy systems.
More recently, I have been working on problems in control theory, particularly realization theory, model reduction, and system identification. I am especially interested in the connections between these areas and mathematical rheology, where complex material responses can be represented through finite-dimensional dynamical systems and identified from observable data.
